April 28th Whitetail Deer Photographs

This album of Whitetail Deer Photographs contains digital scouting camera pictures taken the weeks before April 28, 2006.

This is a strange time of year trying to find interesting deer pictures. Their antlers are poised to burst from their heads but there isn’t quite enough growth to get excited about yet. None the less we’ve found some pictures that we find interesting or entertaining and the turkeys are strutting their stuff to keep give us something to watch.

Maybe our next set of pictures will begin to show more antler development. It seems that when they start to grow they really take off.

It was interesting to see the green returning to the woods in this set of pictures. There was a remarkable difference over the two week period with April 22nd appearing as the date when the most drastic change took place.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam and a Cuddeback Trail Camera, Penn's Woods, and EagleEye Trail Camera.

Whitetail buck

Here is a nice close picture of a buck whose antlers seem ready to bust out. I only wish I knew which buck this was.

Deer chasing a raccoon

Usually the animal kingdom seems to be at peace around the feeders but it looks like this deer has had enough of this raccoon.

buck

Here is another buck whose antlers are trying to grow. If only we knew if he is the same buck as the one in the first picture.

funny deer

I don’t know if this deer had been lying down and was getting up in this picture or maybe was just clumsy. Take a look at the other deer looking at him.

Buck growing antlers

Another buck with antlers ready to burst out. It will be nice when they start to branch and get some individual character.

strutting gobblers

Since it is turkey season here is our contribution. Five gobblers putting on a show for the hens.
