August 12th Whitetail Deer Photographs

It's been interesting with our cameras at our food plots. We seem to see different bucks each week. These aren't new bucks, we just don't know which of a group of several bucks we are going to get pictures of each time we get our game cameras.

We only had a couple pictures of the nine point buck this time and the quality of these pictures was not good enough to put one on this page. These pictures were from the last night that we were there, he hadn't shown up on camera all week.

We have started to establish two more mineral licks this year and we've noticed that they are beginning to use them so we're starting to get some pictures near them. It will be interesting to see how long into the fall they continue to use the mineral licks.

Unfortunately we haven't caught any more coyotes with our game cameras but we did hear them on the evening of August 9th.

These pictures were taken with our Trail Watcher 2040, EagleEye and a homemade WhitetailCam.

Spike buck

This is one of many spike bucks that we caught with our game cameras this week. It would be nice if we could get our younger deer sporting larger antlers.

Eight point buck

We got several pictures of this high racked eight point buck this time but none of them were good head on pictures, but the view from behind is interesting as well. Their antlers usually look wider from behind.

We caught three bucks in this picture on a rainy night.

Whitetail deer picking apples

Here is a doe that got tired of waiting for the apples to fall. She took the matter into her own mouth.

7 point buck

This seven point buck is at one of the new mineral licks we started this year.

Seven point buck

This is the same buck at a different mineral lick. He looks like he has some interesting sticker points on his antler bases.
