3.0 Cuddeback Digital Trail Camera Picture Quality

We gave the Cuddeback digital trail camera a B- for Picture Quality. It now has the best grade out of all of the cameras that I have tested that does not have a real digital camera in it.

Overall the pictures are good.

One slight problem is that the pictures at dawn and dusk are not as bright as the better cameras. They are not awful and you can still see the animals well. It looks like the flash is not activated as long into the dawn and as late into the dusk as some of the other cameras.

The color is not as true as the best cameras. It is not horrendous but it just isn't quite as good. One of the problems is a slight blue tint to some of the pictures. This tint wasn't real bad but it just drops the quality below the better cameras. Again, it is not bad, but you have to be picky when trying to grade these things.

Close-up pictures taken with a flash can be somewhat washed out. They are not as bad as some of the other cameras but the strong flash that helps at a distance can be a little too much when the deer is close. You can still see the deer well but it make the picture look pixilated (spell check actually recognized this word). The picture loses its sharpness.

In general the Cuddeback digital trial camera has better picture quality than all of the major marketed trail cameras that do not have a real digital camera in them.

Picture quality for the 3.0 Cuddeback digital trail camera is good. Unlike some of the other cameras we have not received poor pictures.
