December 23 Whitetail PhotosThree weeks after the end of buck season and we're starting to see bucks who have already shed their antlers. One eye showed up on December 10 with one antler shed and a few other bucks have shed theirs as well over the last two weeks. The big ten didn't show up again. Our hope now is that he has also lost his antlers and can't be identified, but we really don't have any evidence of this. The ten point with a broken tine showed up with one antler shed. Hopefully he'll keep showing up. It's interesting how early the bucks are shedding their antlers this year after holding them much longer last year. It seems that the bumper acorn crop last year helped them hold their antlers longer. Ryan already picked up one small antler this time and he found one eye's antlers from last year. Now we're looking for this years antlers. We have some real good bucks left for next year even though the big ten seems to be gone. One eye, the big nine point and the small ten should be nice bucks next year and the other two ten point bucks we've seen off and on will be real nice bucks. Hopefully we can keep these two bucks around. This time we didn't get any coyote, bobcat or black bear pictures. Check back next time. This weeks pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam, Treebark Cameras 4.1 and Bigfoot Cameras 4.1.
