December 31st Whitetail Deer Photos

This album of Whitetail Deer Photos contains digital scouting camera pictures taken the weeks before December 31, 2005.

Another deer season is now behind us and we've picked up our first shed antler. We have also started getting pictures of bucks that have shed their antlers or are only still carrying one antler.

Most of the bucks that we watched all fall are now gone. Other than a couple spike bucks the only holdover is a nice young seven point.

We'll keep our eyes open now and see which buck keeps its antlers the longest. The last picture we got of an antlered buck last year was on February 17th.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam and a Penn's Woods Digital Scout.

seven point whitetail buck

This is the seven point buck that has been a regular. I'd guess that he is only 2 1/2 years old and should be an interesting looking 3 1/2 year old next fall.

Spike Buck

One half of a three point buck. We saw this buck on Saturday morning and he still had this one side left. We think we found his shed spike near this feeder.

9 point whitetail buck with one antler

Here is the new nine point buck that just showed up last week with only one antler left. We'd like to find his shed antlers but haven't had any success yet.

whitetail buck with shed antlers

This is a nice close-up picture of a buck that has already shed his antlers. We have no idea which buck this is but we think it is a young one.

six point whitetail buck

This young six point has been showing up at both feeders since he first showed up after rifle season.

Three point whitetail buck

We think that this may be the same buck as the second picture before he lost his right side spike.
