January 5th Whitetail Deer Photos
2007 has arrived and we've now given up on seeing any of our larger bucks from the fall that we haven't seen for close to two months now. We're watching a small nine point, wide eight point and a strange looking seven point. We hope to watch them grow into nice bucks as this year goes along. We got our first pictures of a buck that has shed his antlers. Overall there are a few that have already shed. We're getting very few pictures away from our feeders now. The food plots, mineral licks and well traveled areas aren't producing the deer sightings they were. It will probably stay like this until things green up in the spring. It will be interesting to see how long the bucks keep their antlers this year. Last year the latest to drop its antlers was in March. These pictures were taken with our , Trail Watcher 2060, Trail Watcher 2040 and EagleEye.
It looks like the wide eight point has picked up a leaf with his corn.
This young buck looks like he must have dropped one sike of his rack not too long ago. You can still see the blood where the antler dropped from. We think this was the small five point buck.
A nice close picture of the small nine point buck.
One of the two four point bucks.
The seven point buck traveling past the feeder in the early morning.
Here is the other four point buck helping another deer out from under the feeder.
