March 31st Whitetail Deer Photographs

This album of Whitetail Deer Photographs contains digital scouting camera pictures taken the weeks before March 31, 2006.

As we thought two weeks ago the seven point has now dropped his antlers and we now have no antlered deer left to get pictures of. This makes them impossible for us to identify but I'd say we got several pictures of him without his antlers.

It wouldn't surprise me to see their antlers starting to grow soon. Maybe we'll start to see some velvet covered nubs popping up when we get back to get our pictures again in two weeks.

Turkey season opens in a couple of weeks and a couple of gobblers were strutting their stuff in some of our pictures.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam and a Penn's Woods Digital Scout.

Whitetail Buck

I'm guessing that this is the buck that was the seven point buck. I blew the picture up to you can see where his antler pediciles.

Two whitetail deer nose to nose

These two deer are nose to nose. I don't think we really know all of their methods of communication.

Whitetail doe in the snow

It's just starting to snow. There is a blanket of snow on the ground in the next mornings pictures.

Whitetail button buck

This is a scruffy looking button buck. We see a lot like this during this time of year.

Fighting whitetail deer

Another deer up fighting with it's front hooves and turkeys all fanned out that seem oblivious.

Deer with a brown nose

Sometimes they have to get a little mud on their noses. We try to move the feeders often to keep them out of the mud.
