March 31st Whitetail Deer Photos

Over the last week it seemed that the raccoons and turkeys were especially active. We put a digital trail camera on a scrape along an old logging road that looked like it might still be active. We were wrong about the scrape but it sure seems that the turkeys like traveling that old road.

We keep looking closely at the bucks to see if we can see their antlers starting to push up through. We think some may be just starting but it could also just be wishful thinking.

We didn't get any bobcats or coyotes this week but we did get a full cast of deer, raccoons, turkeys, birds, rabbits and squirrels.

It was also interesting this week to see the foliage green up in only this one week period. It was a welcome sight.

These pictures were taken with our EagleEye, Trail Watcher 2040, Penn's Woods Digital Scout and Camtrakker Digital Ranger.

Close up of a whitetail doe

How about this for a close-up. It isn't often that you get to see them this close and alive.

Two whitetail bucks

Here are two bucks that we got several pictures of. It looks like the one on the left is a little bigger. I wish I knew which buck he was.

Turkey gobbler chasing a hen

We didn't get any deer visiting this old scrape but we did catch several turkeys walking on the old logging road including this gobbler following a hen.

Whitetail bucks

We can say for sure that the two closest are bucks but we're not sure about the third deer.

Deer raccoon standoff

We know from the next picture that the deer won this standoff.

Whitetail deer sniffing feeder

You sniff the pipe while I sniff this blue bungee cord.
