May 27th Whitetail Deer Photos

After viewing this weeks pictures I would say that our bucks antler growth is definitely behind what we saw at this time last year. I don't think that this is a final word on the quality of this years bucks but it isn't a good start. Hopefully there will be a growth spurt over the next few weeks.

Most of our pictures this week are of our bucks, but since we can't tell them apart yet we tried to include one from each of our camera locations.

We did see our first fawn of the spring with it's mother in one of our food plots. That particular food plot isn't a good one to catch bucks in but we regularly see does and their young ones eating there.

The dry weather has slowed our food plots but the deer are still visiting our mineral licks regularly. I had one camera on too short of a delay and it only lasted a couple of days at one mineral lick.

These pictures were taken with our Trail Watcher 2060, Trail Watcher 2040, Woodland SpyCam and Penn's Woods Digital Scout.

Buck at mineral lick

This is one of the bucks that spent a lot of time at this mineral lick.

Doe with one ear

I laughed when this picture first popped up. It looks like she is missing one ear.

Whitetail buck

This is the buck with the largest antlers so far this year.

Whitetail Buck

This bucks antlers look like they are just a little behind the antlers of the buck in the previous picture.
