September 3rd Whitetail Deer Photographs

We gathered pictures from a dozen game cameras taken over a two week period, so we had quite a few pictures to look over.

I had predicted that we would see bucks who had shed their velvet by this time and I was almost wrong once again. I did get two pictures of a buck that I think had shed it's velvet, but the pictures aren't the best. One is included below so that you can judge for yourself. I blew the picture up to try to make it easier to determine if he had shed his velvet yet.

The deer finally started eating our two brassica food plots over this two week period and they caught me with my sub-par game cameras monitoring them. Two cameras let me down while the other two did catch some of the activity.

We also got more pictures of the buck with growths on its face. I didn't include any pictures, his spikes were too short to make the cut.

We also got a picture of the high racked eight point in a different area than we normally see him. Maybe they're starting to move around a little more. I expect to see more movement and activity soon. Hopefully a real monster buck will show up, or at least we can hope.

These pictures were taken with our Woodland SpyCam, EagleEye and a Penn's Woods Digital Scout.

Nine point buck in velvet

This is a small nine point buck that we haven't seen too much of until recently. We captured pictures of him in two different locations about one mile apart.

Nine point buck

This is the nine point with the bent antler tine. He looks like his antlers may end up just a little wider than his ears. Notice the time that he showed up.

Eight point buck in velvet

Here is the eight point that we've been watching all summer. His rack has height but not much width.

Seven Point buck in velvet

This seven point has become a regular and we also have pictures of him in several of our food plots.

Eight point whitetail buck

This is the eight point that we think has shed his velvet. It's not the best picture but we only got two pictures of him.

Buck in velvet

Here is what we think is an eight point buck at one of our mineral licks. We think that this is the same buck we caught at this lick the last time. We don't think we are getting pictures of him at the other locations he doesn't seem to be wandering too far from this location. At this mineral lick he is only a couple hundred yards from some of our food plots but we don't think we've captured any pictures of him at any of them.
