Trail Stalker Picture Quality

I have given the Trail Stalker digital trail camera an A- for picture quality. The pictures taken by the COOLPIX L14 are good pictures, but they do not have quite the color brilliance of the pictures from the digital trail cameras that use Sony cameras. The pictures are clear with generally good color and most importantly the pictures are consistantly good.

I'll also add that this same camera is offered with a Sony S600 camera and I would probably buy this model if I were to buy another Trail Stalker trail camera.

One way you can tell the difference in color quality is to take a look at the September 4th picture page. The first five pictures on the Sept 4th page are from three different Sony cameras and the last picture is from the COOLPIX L14. It is my opinion that the color from the Sony cameras is a little better than the color from the COOLPIX L14.

The following six pictures are example picture taken at various times of the day at one of our feeders. All of the picture taken by this camera have been good and are similar to these.

As you can see the Trail Watcher picture quality is very good. Please decide for yourself whether or not it is equal to the picture quality of the trail cameras that use Sony cameras. I could be judging these pictures tougher than you would. The good thing is that if you like the Sony picture quality better you can get this same trail camera with a Sony S600.
