TrophyScoreWe've been watching a wide racked buck since last year and especially since he has starte growing his antlers again this spring. We have scored him starting from June 16th through August 22nd and the four measurements were 63.8, 76.5, 99.8 and finally 111.2 with an inside spread of 19.1 inches. These are measurements in velvet and may be a little off, but the measurements look to be pretty good when you compare them to the pictures. It's going to be fun getting more measurements all the way up until he sheds his velvet. We experimented with a buck that we shot two years ago and also have pictures of and the key seems to be getting a good head on and/or side picture of the buck. We've made some measurements where they were obviously not correct so a good picture seems to be a must. This software has been a lot of fun for us to mess around with. It's fun getting measurements of bucks that we haven't even harvested. TrophyScore fits in real good with our addiction to digital trail cameras. In the past I had always thought that it would be nice if a buck would stand still long enough for you to measure his antlers without actually shooting him. You know, you can only shoot a limited number of bucks each year, so without some help we can only measure those we can shoot unless you have TrophyScore. Take a look at
TrophyScore.
