April 12th Whitetail Photographs

Another tough set of pictures, but the good news is that the weather has improved and we are starting to see some green. The bad news is that it is snowing as I write this on the 15th. Thankfully the fruit trees haven't hinted at a bud yet so we haven't hurt our fruit crop yet this year.

We still plan to spice up our food plots this year and we did some plowing so we can hopefully put in about another half acre of clover. We also have some fertilizer to add to our other plots but I'm waiting for dryer weather.

Since we saw signs of a green up, we didn't put out any protein feed so we're monitoring all of our mineral licks this week. I'm not sure if they'll start using them heavily yet, but we'll find out. We also still have cameras at our feeders and I put one in the hayfield to see what comes by.

This week we got one picture that we think is a bobcat, but we're just not sure so I'm not going to put it on this site. Check back next time, who knows what we'll see.

One buck stretching in and another on the opposite side.

This one looks like it may be the overbite buck.

I have to admit I'm getting tired of snow and this deer looks frustrated too.

Another buck walking past one of our other protein spots.

This looks like it may be one of our older bucks.

This is a really nice picture, except for the snow.
