August 22nd Whitetail Photographs
There must be something about one of our biggest bucks not showing up each week. This week the ten point from the old house area didn't show up again, just like two weeks ago. The big eight point that was a no show last week showed up again this week and we caught him with three of our cameras. He may be our biggest buck this year.
The black bear showed up again and this week he found our third feeder. We were hoping he wouldn't find this feeder since he hadn't touched it after destroying the other two a couple times each. He walked past the bucket of feed we left at the middle clearing and even knocked it over. He didn't eat it, he just knocked it over. We don't have any feeders up now. We're thinking about hanging some bucket feeders to see what he'll do. We don't have the time to anything more sophisticated at this time. We're just trying to keep something out there to keep them visiting.
The logging road gave us one picture of the big eight point, but little else. This week we're trying the apple trees and another location in the hayfield.
The small eight point reminds us of the buck that was wounded two years ago. Looking at his left side in pictures from prior weeks doesn't lead to this conclusion. Maybe it's just a young buck with similar genetics.
This week we got them all, several black bear pictures, two coyote pics and even a bobcat picture. Take a look at all of them.
Yes, we're showing you a three point. That's what happens when the bigger ones don't show up.
We're trying to figure out how long his tines are. He may be our biggest eight point buck we've ever had.
This buck doesn't like to pose for pictures. He's the boss, but not the biggest.
The overbite buck. Sometimes he looks pretty big, sometimes he looks small.
Overbite and the ten point in the same picture.
The smaller eight point spent a lot of time eating the snack we left for him.
