February 21st Whitetail Photographs

Let's be honest, this time of the year is a tough time for deer pictures. All of the bucks have shed their antlers and they haven't yet started to grow their next set. The cold weather is also tough on cameras and especially batteries.

We did get to spend a little time shed antler hunting with no luck. The snow was gone, but we didn't have a lot of time to hunt.

Our cameras at mineral licks haven't provided much for us yet. The deer haven't started to use them much. We expect they'll start soon so we'll keep monitoring a couple of them.

We finally put a third feeder out this week as well. Hopefully the bear doesn't stop by and ruin them again. Of course we're watching them with our cameras.

We're still putting out sweet feed and monitoring with cameras. The deer love the sweet feed until spring pops and everything greens up.

Once again we went three weeks and we didn't get any coyote, bobcat or black bear pictures. Check back next time.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I first saw this picture. Can you find the bird?

Close-up of a young buck. It looks like he may be angry about something.

The is a good picture of what our winter has been like this year.

Did the rabbit distract this deer so he could grab a bite?

Multiple choice, is this young buck clearing the ice away from the lens, climbing an ice hill or fighting another deer?

We don't kow which buck this is, but we hope he eats a lot of sweet feed.
