February 6,2015 Whitetail Photographs

Two weeks ago all of the bucks except for the big eight point had shed his antlers and as you would expect he has now shed his antlers as well. He lost them both around the last two days of January. Since this is the last time we'll see this buck we've included two pictures of him below.

Ryan spent some time looking, but couldn't find any more antlers this weekend. We'll probably spend a little more time shed hunting the next time we visit, but it looks like the easy to find sheds have already revealed themselves. With half a ten point, another ten point and two sets of eight point sheds out there we'd sure like to find more.

One bright spot is that the deer look healthy. We've included a couple buck pictures this week of two nice looking bucks. We're still trying to give them protein feed each time we visit to help supplement the corn and the natural forage.

Once again this week we didn't get any bobcat, coyote or black bear pictures. We need to start watching the hayfield crossing again, but we didn't do that again this time.

One of the last two pictures for the year of our big eight point buck.

Here's a buck walking through the snow that still looks like he's in good condition.

The second picture of our big eight point.

The overbite buck is the only buck we can identify without his antlers.

This could be the same buck in the second picture, but this is a good looking buck too.

Here the eight point with only half his rack on January 31st.
