July 31, 2015 Whitetail Photographs

Now that July is over we have identified seven different bucks in this set. We got good pictures of six of them for this page. The only big buck we didn't get a good picture of is one of the ten point bucks. We got some pictures of him at a distance, but none of them were close enough to make the page. From what we could see at a distance, he looks like he's a really nice buck.

Comparing our bucks to last year is interesting. The ten point with small G-2's looks like he's not much bigger than last year if at all. The ten point from the old house may be bigger from what we can tell from the pictures. The big eight point is trying hard to get a ninth point and his tines are still large on the end, which show that they aren't done growing. Overbite is getting a ninth point too and he looks like he has a much bigger set of antlers.

The mineral lick's are starting to provide fewer pictures, but this week we put Sugarbeet Crush in two spots. We went back to Whippoorwill to the spot that we saw a nice nine point last year to see what we can see this year.

We put a camera at the apple trees and got pictures of a couple of bucks. We'll keep watching, we've seen nice bucks here in the past when we had apples.

The licking branch is still attracting bucks and should start to attract even more attention.

This week we didn't get any black bear, bobcat or coyote pictures again, we'll keep looking.

This isn't a returning buck that we can identify from last year, probably his first year as an eight point.

Overbite has grown into a nice buck. Check out his goofy mouth!

I'm just not sure this buck is growing a larger set of antlers. Hopefully he surprises me.

This buck is big and looks like he's not done growing yet.

Here is another eight point we can't identify from last year.

Here is a young buck struggling to grow brow tines. Since the brow tines grow first, this buck may end up a six point.
