July 9, 2015 Whitetail Photographs

Our bucks are getting easier to identify, but there are still some unknowns and a little guessing. The big eight point looks like he's going to be an eight point again, hopefully a real big one. The ten point that hung around the old house looks like he's going to put on a lot of size and he's at least a ten point again. We think we have the other ten point identified, he seems to be lagging a little behind in antler growth compared to the other two. Over bite looks like he's going to be a pretty big eight point this year, if we have him identified correctly. I'm curious to see just how big he'll get.

Our mineral lick cameras didn't give us much this week, mostly just deer walking to the feed spots. I moved one of them to a food plot we know deer are coming to at night near the house and we put another at our apple trees. Apples are starting to fall and we've watched does come to get them. We want to see what shows up at night.

We're still getting a lot of fawn pictures and we have a real close one for this week. We had one let us take pictures of it when we showed up at the old house to pick up the cards and batteries. He may be a regular at this spot this year.

The licking branch is still attracting bucks. A dead tree has fallen into this tree and is pushing our licking branch lower. They don't have to reach up for it right now. We'll see if this afffects their visits.

This week we didn't get any black bear, bobcat or coyote pictures again, but we did have a bobcat run across the road in front of us about a quarter of a mile from the house on our way out today. This was the first bobcat sighting I've had.

We think this is the other ten point from last year. His antler growth seems to be a little behind the other two big bucks.

This ten point is looking good so far. He could be tempting this year.

This could be one of the best fawn pictures we've ever taken.

This buck showed up in a couple of locations. He was probably a young buck last year so we can't track him back.

The big eight point from last year looks like he's going to be an eight point again. Hopefully a huge one.

We think this is the overbite buck. He looks like he's trying to get a ninth point and he looks like he's going to be a lot bigger this year.
