May 30th Whitetail Photographs

The bucks are growing their antlers and some are splitting off brow tines. We're not seeing bucks that show great promise, but it's early. We only have one feeder operating so we're not getting hundreds of pictures, but we're still seeing bucks.

Although our food plots look pretty nice it's still early in the year and the deer still have a lot to eat so their not yet flocking to the plots. We'll try to move our cameras to the plots when the deer move to them.

They're still hitting the mineral licks hard so we have four cameras on them. Hopefully they will get what they need.

For some reason the black bear hasn't found the last feeder and we hope he doesn't. We'd like to get them up and running again later this summer for the fall, but I'm not sure how to keep the bear away. We hope he finds something better some place else.

This week we didn't get any black bear, bobcat or coyote pictures, maybe next time.

A buck and a doe at one of our mineral licks.

Another young buck at a mineral lick not far from the house.

This is one of our better bucks at yet another mineral lick.

Two bucks at the same mineral lick. It looks like they're already figuring out the pecking order.

This looks like another decent buck at a different mineral lick.

Here is a buck at our lone feeder that shows some promise.
