Mike's Buck

by Mike Haggy
(Clark County Ohio USA)

There was about ten minutes left of legal hunting time left when he appeared out of nowhere. But, luckily I didn't see him coming due to the size of him I may have fallen from my stand. I had a terrible time seeing him through my sights because, like they always seem to do, he was standing in the shadows. I did the best I could to put my sights on center of the darkest shadow and let the arrow fly. Now, with laughter, I can say 650 yards and 14 hours later I found the biggest deer I have ever shot dead at the end of the blood trail.
