October 26th, 2015 Whitetail Photographs

It's not uncommon for us to have a strange week in October and this was one of those. We got pictures of all of our bucks, but there just wasn't the volume of pictures that we usually see. Hunting magazine authors call it the October lull, we just call it a strange week in October.

The new eight point that showed up last week didn't show up in any of our pictures this week. I guess he moved on to try and push around bucks on another property. I'm still waiting to see a huge buck that we haven't seen before. I can always hope.

Ryan was loading firewood and the big nine point ran by them in the field. When I asked him how big he was, Ryan said the buck was moving too fast to get a good look so we're still trying to determine just how big he is. I didn't get a chance to have a sit on my last trip so I didn't get a close look at any of our bucks although I did see the overbite eight point in the hayfield as I was eating breakfast Tuesday morning.

We saw one new scrape this week, on the tree at the old house food plot that our camera hangs on. It's about 90 degrees from the spot that the camera watches. We're still not seeing scraping at other licking branches but the scrape at the middle food plot is still seeing action.

We didn't get any bobcat, black bear or coyote pictures this week. Maybe next week.

The ten point that hangs out at our old house area. We never see him anyplace else.

The overbite buck, we see him everywhere.

The six point at the licking branch along the old road.

The big nine point having a bite of protein feed.

Our other ten point buck walking through a food plot.

The young seven point at the same location.

Another eight point at a feeder that saw reduced deer activity this week.
