9 Point Buck

9 Point Buck

135 yard shot on a full run shoulder to shoulder

with a doe on his right and a 6 point on his left.
Fading fast over a hill I pulled up my 12 gauge
and only saw from the tops of their shoulders and up.

With only a split second to react before they were
below the hill line I put my sights (No Scope) between
his antlers dropped down just a bit and let a slug fly
that caught him about three inches below the base of the skull, cutting his spine and killing him on the spot. Oh by the way all those other guys with their rifles and scopes never had a chance at this buck.

They only had a split second to get a shot at this
buck and simply could not get him scoped in time.
I used to hunt with a rifle and scope but only
with iron sights (so you can see under the scope
and pick up game that is moving fast and close).
These guys refuse to try these scope mounts and lose
opportunities every year. Oh well, more bucks like
this one for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9 point buck 250lb
I am 6 feet tall and weigh 215lb
Compare the buck to me.
