September 12th Whitetail Photographs

One more week and all of our bucks except for two have shed their velvet. We got some interesting pictures of them right before they shed.

Our second sky high feeder made it through the week. For some reason the black bear hasn't visited again. We can't figure out the movement of this critter. Now that we would like to see his reaction to our latest feeder idea he hasn't showed up. Maybe this week.

We got pictures of all our bucks this week. The wide ten only showed up in a couple, but in two locations.

We haven't had much luck with cameras in locations looking for bucks away from food. This week we've found an early scrape so we've put a camera there to see what we can find. We also put a camera along the old logging road again at a favorite licking branch from previous years.

Again this week we didn't catch a black bear, coyote or bobcat, but we did hear coyotes yipping while we we're putting out the cameras.

Check out the blood running down this bucks face prior to shedding his velvet.

One of our smaller eight point bucks eying up the ten point.

We're not sure if this young buck walked through some dark mud or if he's going to be easy to identify with these dark legs.

The overbite buck hadn't shed his velvet yet, one of only two bucks to still have velvet.

This buck shed his velvet early in the week and spent a lot of time in front of our cameras.

This buck didn't disappoint this year. We would like to see thicker antlers, but you can't put down his tine length.

We saw a good bit of our little six point this week in two locations.

This buck showed up in two locations this week, both were in food plots.
