September 19th Whitetail Photographs

All of our bucks have now shed their velvet. The last buck to shed was our overbite buddy who finally shed his velvet on Wednesday. So, we know what we have now and without much hesitation we can say that our biggest buck is the big eight point.

The interesting thing we saw this week was that all of our bigger bucks hung out at the same place. We don't think this will last long. Once the bucks start to feel a little frisky we think they split up to different locations again. We just hope they stay on our place. It still looks like the biggest antlered buck isn't the most aggressive. We got one picture of the wide ten point chasing him off.

When I went out to get our cameras the overbite eight point was under the feeder at the old house. His antlers aren't real big but he has a decent sized body. He's a pretty big deer.

Our two cameras at licking branches didn't give us much this week. If it wasn't for a nice bobcat picture we'd have to say that they were wasted cameras this week. This week we went back to food including one food plot along with one camera at a mineral lick that we had established but had never monitored.

No black bear pictures this week, but we did catch bobcats and coyotes. I even saw two coyotes about a mile from our place on my way down Friday evening.

It looks like this buck sports the biggest antlers of all our bucks. Impressive for an eight point buck.

One of our small eight point bucks on a late morning feeder visit.

Our other small eight point buck. Almost didn't use this picture due to the large tick below his ear.

Another picture of the biggest eight point.

Here are the wide ten point and the overbite buck. It's good to get two in a picture together to compare them.

The wide ten just a short time later.

Overbite the day he shed his velvet.

The other ten point. This one should be a real dandy next year if he can survive.
